Best Portable Vaporizers and Vape Pens

Best Portable Vaporizers and Vape Pens in 2020

There has been an explosion in the development of smaller, stronger, efficient portable vape pens and the market is nearly saturated. Now, more than ever, it is important to equip yourself with up-to-date and reliable knowledge about what are the best dry herb vaporizers, wax pens, etc. Particularly because there are so many different options, we have listed below an extensive list of some of the best portable vaporizers that can be found on the market today. The point of this review is not to convince you to purchase one type of vape pen over another but rather to showcase and highlight some of the differentiating features and specifications found in each vape pen and provide you with accurate information to better inform your decisions!

Vaporizers come in all different sizes, shapes, and features. There is going to be a portable wax pen or dry herb vaporizer that is going to be perfect for you – but you need to know exactly what it is you are looking for.  Make sure to consider a couple of things when you are going about deciding what kind of vape pen is going to be best for you:

  • you will want to consider how you are primarily going to be using your vape. Will you primarily be outside of your home and in public? In your car? In a park/in nature?
  • What will you use your vape for? There are multitudes of vapes that specialize in one type of THC or another. Do you want to only use dry herb? Are you only looking for a wax pen? Do you need both?
  • How much do you plan on vaping? How heavy or light of a user are you? Some vapes will be better for heavier users because they come equipped with features and design considerations that are meant for a more experienced, heavier user. They will deliver larger hits and their batteries will likely last longer. If you are more of a blue moon vaper, you might not need to overpay for these types of vapes or they might be too complicated. Likewise, an experienced vaper is going to want a vape pen that is more robust and not as likely to fizzle out with heavy use.

With these considerations in mind, let’s go through and examine the different specifications of each type of vape below.

E-Clipse Dry Herb Vaporizer

E-Clipse Dry Herb Vaporizer

First on the list is the E-Clipse Dry Herb Vaporizer. As you can read in the name, this vape is for dry herb only and so will not be able to serve as a wax vape pen or help you much in the form of other concentrates. But this is only an issue if you’re not looking for Dry Herb only. Frankly, there is not too much negative to say about the E-Clipse in form or function. Overall, the smaller size makes this dry herb vape an absolute winner in terms of mobility and concealability. Moreover, that smaller size does not in any way shape or fashion affect performance or battery life. With adjustable temperature controls, you’re able to take as big or hard of a hit as you like – or to soften it up a bit. The battery will likely last you the entire day and shouldn’t give you too many problems overall. Best of all, the capacity to hold dry herb is fairly large. You won’t be stuck refilling the chamber with dry herb constantly in spite of the smaller size of this vape compared to others. Overall, most people don’t want to spend a fortune on a vape and for some people $100 or more is certainly a fortune. As such, this dry herb vaporizer may be out of your budget range (although we will list and review plenty of other alternatives if that is the case).

Pros:

  • One of the smallest dry herb vapes on the market
  • Excellent battery life
  • Excellent power and temp control

Cons:

  • Can't be used with wax concentrates or oil

Saber Vape Pen for Wax

Saber Vape Pen For Wax

This next vape pen is going to be more interesting to vapers that prefer a wax vape pen over a dry herb vaporizer. The Saber Vape Pen for Wax is made with high-quality materials and has had a lot of thought put into its use and design – this is always a plus. You don’t want to spend money on a product that doesn’t carry a good reputation or have some care or thought put into it’s users. Of note, a wonderful feature of the Saber Vape Pen for Wax is that there are all magnetic parts on this vape. This means that you’re not worrying about threading or loose-fitting pieces falling apart. Even though this vape pen is on the smaller side, it is not delicate. You will not have to worry about dropping your Saber and kissing it goodbye from a few simple drops. Moreover, the Saber employs some wonderful low-heat technology that will allow you to vape and enjoy the taste of every single hit you take. The Saber wax pen does, however, have a rather average battery life and power so keep this in mind if you are an above-average heavy vaper. This isn’t to say the Saber is not a wonderful vape but no one wants to purchase a portable, mobile vape only to be stuck in a perpetual search for a wall outlet several times a day.

Pros:

  • Good materials and design (magnetic parts)
  • Low heat technology makes for a tasty vape
  • Affordable

Cons:

  • Battery life might not last for heavier duty vapers
  • Can Only vape wax

SteamCloud Mini 2.0 Oil Vape

SteamCloud Mini 2.0 Oil and Wax Vape Mod

This is the next iteration of the SteamCloud Mini and it comes with a few great improvements over its predecessor. Namely, you have pre-heat functionality, variable voltage, and you can use it for wax as well as oil.  This vape mod is an absolutely versatile product and should be considered if you enjoy wax and oil cartridges and love something that is on the smaller side. While this does mean the battery is not going to be as large as some other vape mods this is still an excellent purchase. There are multiple different kits available and you will certainly have your interests represented. Remember, you can also purchase cartridge adaptors as well. The pre-heat function is not going to be a necessity or a requirement, however you may find that it is useful for your new oil cartridges. While you would normally simply continue to hit your vape pen in order to warm up the new oil cartridges, with the steamcloud mini 2.0 you can simply set the pre-heat on much like you would an oven. This will allow you to bring your oil up to the proper temperature so that you can start right away with a tasty, warm, full-bodied hit.

Pros:

  • Good materials
  • Extremely concealable
  • Versatility

Cons:

  • Smaller, therefore smaller battery
  • No dry herb functionality

Titan 1 True Dry Herb Vaporizer 3-in-1

Titan 1 Vaporizer Pen For Dry Herbs

This is an excellently built, affordable dry herb vaporizer that is going to provide you with wonderful vaping sessions as well as let you keep a little bit more money in your wallet. This can be important for a vaper who is not entirely dedicated to vaping or is trying to get more involved and understand without potentially making a costly investment. The neatest feature of the Titan 1 Dry Herb Vaporizer is that the Titan uses a convection heating system without having to expose any heating elements. This means that your dry herb is going to be fully vaporized, evenly, without having to worry about catching fire or burning any components (or yourself). This is both a design as well as safety success story. Moreover, the Titan comes equipped with a powerful battery and will not require you to constantly chase a power source. Keep in mind, however, that this means the charging time can range anywhere from 3-5 hours and this should be taken into account. All in all, this is a wonderful vaporizer and will serve you well without having to worry about too many gimmicks or features that will sap power. The Titan is now sold with an oil cartridge adapter so that means that those who prefer, or are curious about, dabbing oil might look to this vape pen as a wonderfully versatile vape pen to have.

Pros:

  • Convection heating system
  • Adaptable to both oil and dry herb
  • Good battery

Cons:

  • Charge time may be too long
  • No wax capability
  • Convection may be too light or weak for some vapers

Titan 2 Vaporizer For Dry Herbs

Titan 2 Dry Herb Vape Pen

Another excellent product from Titan, the Titan 2 vaporizer will supply you with excellent vapor production time and time again. Much can be said about this brand and company, however, we believe that many of the praises have already been raised in the review above. Suffice it to say, the Titan 2 maintains the oven-style convection heating system and this will allow you to enjoy the zero combustion high-quality flavor of this vape pen (like the Titan 1). There are also attachments sold that will allow oil vaping and turn this into an oil dab pen. Moreover, note the digital temperature control and the wonderful allowances that brings to control the entirety of your vaping experience. Unfortunately, this vape pen still has a longer charge time at 3-5 hours and does not have wax functionality (if those are concerns of yours). All in all, the Titan 2 is high quality and is an improvement to vaping while remaining similar to the great qualities we enjoy in the Titan 1.

Pros:

  • Temperature control
  • Good, strong battery
  • Convection heating system

Cons:

  • No wax capability
  • Long battery charge time
  • Convection may not be preferred manner of vaping

Yocan Hive 2.0 Oil Vape Mod

Yocan Hive 2.0 Oil and Wax Vape Mod

Introducing an excellent oil and wax vape box mod, the Yocan Hive 2.0 provides a great mix of quality materials and functionality. Often, box mods are not made to be able to handle or provide for wax compatibility and that makes the Yocan Hive 2.0 vape mod stand out. So, if you’re a wax vape pen fan you should not overlook this box mod. Keep in mind, box mods are rather versatile and can be equipped with a variety of different connectors. All in all, if your more concerned with power than you are about how compact or portable your wax pen is going to be you should heavily consider the Yocan Hive 2.0. Most importantly, even though it is certainly not the smallest vape on the market, the Yocan Hive 2.0 still manages to remain concealable, portable, and extremely handy. This box mod, unlike some others, comes with a smaller, more conventional battery so expect to have to charge this more often than some of the larger, more powerful options out there. You will have variable voltage settings on this box mod to allow yourself a lighter or heavier hit depending on your mood. You should seriously consider the Yocan Hive 2.0 if you’re looking to move from vape pens to box mods as this is certainly a market-leading, fan favorite.

Pros:

  • Variable voltage control
  • Oil and wax usable
  • Excellent taste and power output

Cons:

  • No dry herb
  • Smaller battery capacity

Yocan Evolve Plus Wax Vape Dab Pen

Yocan Evolve Plus Dab Wax Pen Vape

This is an excellent wax vaporizer and should not be overlooked. It is simple and elegant, easy to use, and offers thoughtful features like a wax storage container at the bottom of the dab pen. This makes the Yocan Evolve Plus wax vape dab pen a great addition to any vaper’s arsenal of tools and toys. Most importantly, keep in mind that this vape pen has an excellent battery attached to it that will allow for longer vape sessions. The Yocan line is made of quality materials and should not be overlooked at all. Most importantly, remember that this is used to vape wax and so if dry herb is going to be more your style you will have to go elsewhere to find that level of functionality. Quality of vapor production is good despite the lack of temperature control.

Pros:

  • Built-in dab container on the bottom
  • Powerful battery
  • Simple and easy to use for beginners

Cons:

  • Temperature control non-existent
  • Might not meet specific needs of experienced vapers

Stoner Joe’s Dry Herb Vaporizer

Stoner Joe Dry Herb Vaporizer

Here is a unique vaporizer name: Stoner Joe’s Dry Herb Vaporizer. Don’t let the eccentricity of the name fool you – this vape is not to be overlooked or set aside in favor of more ‘serious’ vape names. This is a quality brand and is certainly worth every penny – of which you will need just a bit more for this vape over some others in this list. The Stoner Joe’s brand has equipped this vape with a powerful battery – one of the stronger ones on this list – and it doesn’t even come at a cost of the longest charging period – just 3 hours. Moreover, this brand uses quality materials so as not to give you a fragile, expensive vape pen. This vape pen has temperature control and can reach its heating temperature in just 45 seconds! It cannot be overstated that this is a quality vaporizer and certainly justifies the price. However, it does not come with wax or oil compatibility and that should be noted for fans of shatter, wax, or oil.

Pros:

  • Temp control
  • Fast, powerful battery
  • Good charging period

Cons:

  • Longer charge than some other brands
  • Dry herb only
  • On the pricier side

Micro Vape Pen For Wax

Micro Vape Wax Dab Pen

The Micro Vape Pens are an excellent addition to any vaper’s arsenal. There is something to be said regarding the ability to have a smaller vape to just whip out of your pocket at a moments notice. The micro vape pen is able to provide reliable vaping without bothering yourself too much with the more sophisticated and detail-oriented larger vapes or box mods. There is certainly not as much of an expertise requirement with the micro vape series.

One of the many different kits and stylings available is the Micro vape travel kit. This is extremely handy if you are looking to purchase a micro vape to add to an already existent collection. Most importantly, you can purchase a softer or harder case depending on your preferences and needs when traveling (for example, it may be more prudent to bring a harder case camping). While the micro vape is certainly useful for having a smaller size, it should be understood that the battery is also significantly less powerful and will require more charging (which might necessitate a different vape for opportunities when farther away from electricity). The micro vapes come with wax functionality. There are multiple series of different colors and patterns that are available to suit your unique, expressive tastes as well. These all function similarly just with different sets of color schemes available. In addition, are also quartz coil kits and double pen kits that will allow you for more use per coil or simply to have a back-up micro vape for those moments you are further away from a power source. There is also a 510 thread coil micro vape kit that will act similarly to the SteamCloud Micro and serves as a dry herb vape kit with wax functionality.  However, the micro vape kit is a push-in coil design and the SteamCloud Micro Vape Kit has a screw-in coil design. The SteamCloud Micro Vape Kit, with its screw-in design, is certainly more advanced, however, this is certainly noticeable in the price differential when compared to the various Micro Vape Kits.

All of this is something that you will need to flesh out directly with your needs or tastes.

Pros:

  • Smaller size means great portability
  • Reliable product - great for wax users
  • Many different styles, varieties

Cons:

  • No oil cartridge capability
  • Small battery
  • May not deliver powerful enough hit for experienced vaper

Yocan Evolve Plus XL Wax Pen Vape

Yocan Evolve Plus XL Wax Dab Pen Vape

This is a powerful, improved version of the Evolve Plus. While it still enjoys many of the positive connotations of the Evolve Plus, this vape pen – often referred to as a dab pen because of how powerful the hits are – makes for a heavy vaping experience. New vapers or those that prefer a lighter hit for medicinal reasons may find this power overpowering and determine to go with other, lighter options. In addition, the Evolve Plus XL comes with 4 quartz rod coils. This lets the Yocan Evolve Plus XL vape pen heat up far more wax than otherwise allowed and is making a big difference for connoisseurs of vape pens. There is also a neat little feature in the form of an airflow valve that will let you adjust the hits to be more smooth – possibly a mitigating factor for the harsher power and hits. This vape comes with a powerful battery and will last a long time compared to other smaller batteries. This does mean a longer charge time, however, if power and performance mean more to you then this should be a good choice for you.

Pros:

  • Power, power, power
  • Great wax capacity
  • High quality materials and brand

Cons:

  • Longer charge times
  • Less portability
  • Wax only

Ago Vaporizer Pen For Dry Herbs

AGO Vaporizer For Dry Herbs

This is one of the older, original vaporizers designed for the dry herb market. Don’t let that fool you into thinking that there is anything inherently wrong with that – they are still selling for a reason. If you want to buy yourself an effective, cheap vape pen to enjoy dry herb with than this might just be your meal ticket. More importantly, if you’re not the most concerned with real, full dry herb vaporization than this can be an excellent way to begin your vaping career. That is because the AGO Vaporizer is a combustion vaporizer. What this means is that you are still combusting the dry herb – you are just doing so in a heated chamber and therefore not using lighter fluid. While this is a distinct advantage over a pipe or bong – particularly for those wary of residual flavors in their dry herb – this also means that this type of vaporizer will come with a harsher hit than the others on this list. However, adding glass screens to this product can mitigate the harsher pulls from a combustion vaporizer as opposed to a newer, more conventional vape pen on the market today. For the inexperienced user, this dry herb vaporizer will provide all of the power necessary to enjoy dry herb without worrying about overpaying for capacity and power they may not intend to use or ever need. This vaporizer hits the mark for ‘average’ in almost every category – and that’s perfectly ok. Unless you’re in dire need of the most powerful vaporizer on the market – or simply prefer not vaping dry herb – than the Ago is going to become one of your new best friends.

Pros:

  • Reliable, tested model
  • Dry Herb functionality works great
  • Cost-effective

Cons:

  • Might not appeal to your specific needs, too generic
  • Missing crucial features for expert vapers

Yocan Pandon Wax Vaporizer

Yocan Pandon Dab Wax Vaporizer Pen

The Yocan brand is certainly praised throughout this review and for good reason – they take seriously their job of producing a good vaporizer. This isn’t to say that other brands don’t, however, the Yocan Pandon Wax Vaporizer is certainly continuing to live up to that outstanding reputation and should be seriously considered by any waxy vape head in the market for a new toy. The Pandon comes with a powerful battery (not the strongest but certainly better than average) and will not disappoint in the power department. Moreover, it accomplishes this while maintaining a low profile and not being too large to function well as a portable vape. There are two, count them two, chambers with dual quartz rods in each chamber. This means that an insane amount of wax can be vaped if you’re up to the challenge. This vaporizer is a wonderful addition to the Yocan brand family and could make an excellent addition to your collection. However, you might want to pay attention to slightly longer charge time and the lack of functionality with other types of herb or cartridges. There is an advantage to purchasing the Yocan Pandon Wax vape if you own a Yocan Evolve – they’re compatible.

Pros:

  • Good design and compatible with Yocan Evolve
  • Powerful battery
  • Two dual quartz rods in two heating chambers

Cons:

  • Might overdeliver on power for newer, more inexperienced users
  • No Dry Herb or Oil capability
  • Slightly longer charging period with powerful battery

Glass Globe Vape Pen For Wax

Glass Globe Vape Wax Dab Pen

The Glass Globe Vape Pen is a cool looking device that will not only let you showcase your new, unique vape but also give you an excellent vaping experience. Let’s start with the fact that the hit from this vape pen is really smooth. This is always a bonus. Not to mention, it’s not because it is underpowered either. While not the most powerful vape in this list it certainly does get the job done and it does that well. With 510 Threaded coils these vape pens are compatible with a number of common vape mods and you won’t find yourself scrambling to the nearest shop or website to replace your collection. This might be a bonus for a heavy vaper simply looking to branch out into new products or areas of vaping without having to replace all of your current supplies. Glass, as we know with bongs, is a durable material that maintains good flavor and is ready and easy to clean. However, be careful with this vape pen more so than you would with a fully metal and plastic vape as you don’t want to drop and bust the globe. Consider this vape if you want something with good hit capability, a good price, and average battery power and life. This vape is only to be used with wax.

Pros:

  • Unique glass globe allows for smooth, big hits
  • Not underpowered
  • Easy to clean and use
  • Efficiently vapes wax

Cons:

  • Might underwhelm power-enthusiasts
  • Battery life might not be long enough
  • Fragility could be a problem to clumsier vapers
  • Only vapes wax

SteamCloud Box Mod Vape Kit

SteamCloud Box Mod Vape Kit

This is going to be one of the more versatile options on the list. This is important, because, some people develop tastes for dry herb, wax, and oil and do not want to have to chase down or keep track of 3 separate vape pens. This box mod also allows for a variety of attachments and interchangeability that is of value to some vapers – particularly those with more experience and dedication in the vaping market. It’s important to note that the SteamCloud Box Mod is a powerful box mod for concentrates, eliquids, and dry herbs that comes with a good battery life and more power than a lot of the vapes on this list. So, you are not sacrificing anything in the name of versatility. However, this does mean that the SteamCloud Box Mod is going to run you a little more money for a single purchase and this might not be something you want to do in the name of power or versatility. It is not going to be the easiest vape pen to jump into and so new users might find it a better investment to find a cheaper dab pen, dry herb vaporizers, or wax pen to fit their needs and explore their curiosity. This isn’t to say that the SteamCloud is complicated at all – just that this might overwhelm someone not entirely sure that they enjoy vaping already. Just because the SteamCloud Box Mod is powerful, effective, and versatile does not mean it is too complicated to learn. Wattage control is a nice function to have – particularly if you’re using eliquid. Too much wattage will burn your SteamCloud box mod out and no one likes to have to replace something that isn’t cheap. Definitely keep the SteamCloud on your wishlist if you are new to the vape game and want to try something simpler, cheaper first. Or take a long look at whatever SteamCloud will create to eventually replace and upgrade this box mod.

Pros:

  • Box mod means various attachments available
  • Versatile
  • Powerful

Cons:

  • Longer charge time for the added power
  • Might be too much for a beginner
  • Might contain features not necessary for some users

Yocan Evolve Wax Pen Vape

Yocan Evolve Dab Wax Pen Vape

The Yocan Evolve is a great dab pen wax vape. While we have also reviewed updated and modified iterations of the Evolve, there is nothing wrong with the original Yocan Evolve wax pen. Now, if you enjoy the other features and the expansive upgrades in either the Evolve Plus or Evolve Plus XL we can hardly blame you. However, if those are simply too much for your wallet or you are more of a simple vape experience type of person, the Yocan Evolve is certainly a good choice to make. There is an average battery power and capacity which means a normal charge time as well. The power is suitable and the hits are smooth. There is not the temperature control options nor the same level of complexity to the original Yocan Evolve and so you will have to take that as you may. The value of the Yocan Evolve, however, certainly lies in it reliability, power, and the idea that this bad boy still sells when there are other, newer versions of it – meaning you can take to the bank that this vape pen has a lot of value to it. Especially if you’re a beginner vaper, this might be the vape pen for you.

Pros:

  • Simple, no frills power
  • Good battery
  • Easy to use

Cons:

  • Only for wax
  • No temp control or other more specific user functions
  • Average battery and life will underwhelm experienced vapers

Kangertech Vape Subox Mini Box Mod

Kangertech Subox Mini Box Mod Vape Starter Kit

This is going to be a neat kit to purchase for someone looking to get into the wax and eliquid vaping scene. The Kangertech Subox Mini Box Mod Vape comes with an exceptionally powerful battery that delivers big, strong hits to really let yourself know just how much you are vaping and how much you really like it over other forms of consumption. This vape also comes with the ability to control your wattage (as mentioned before, particularly useful when using eliquid) and you can set your wattage anywhere from 7 to 50 watts! This is an obvious win for those who already know what they like and have found themselves underwhelmed by the power or wattage of other less expensive vape pens or vape kits. Keep in mind, that does mean that this is going to be more of an investment and so either a lot of research should be conducted or more experience developed with these sorts of vape kits. There is certainly an admirable quality about having a large capacity for powerful hits though this is not always the case for every vaper’s tastes. With all that power, the Kangertech manages to keep itself on the smaller side though it is of course less portable/concealable than smaller vapes like the micro vape pen.

    Pros:

    • Power and wattage are almost unmatched
    • Useful for both wax and eliquid

    Cons:

    • Might be too much for a less experienced vaper or someone who prefers softer hits
    • Does not allow dry herb capability

Flowermate Vaporizer V5 OS Pro For Dry Herbs

Flowermate V5 0S Pro Vaporizer For Dry Herbs

The Flowermate Vaporizer V5 OS Pro is certainly one of the best in the Flowermate series (it is, coincidentally, one of the newest). This is not to speak poorly of the previous iterations, however, if you want one of the best dry herb vaporizers that money can buy this is certainly going to pop onto your radar. Keep in mind, however, you WILL be paying for that quality and research and experience. This is not going to be a cheap vaporizer so make sure you do your research or at least have some experience enjoying dry herb vapor or oils. This vape pen does come with concentrate pod functionality and so you can use it for oil concentrates. So, if you are looking for wax pen you will certainly stay away from the Flowermate V5 OS Pro. It should be clear that this is a powerful, smooth, effective way to vaporize your dry herb (and oils) and enjoy yourself along the way. In addition, you should note some other awesome features on the Flowermate include a tremendously fast 30 second heatup time, a top reading of 446 degrees Fahrenheit, as well as an OLED display that will accurately provide your temperature and battery readings. All told, there is certainly an argument to be made that the folks at Flowermate certainly know their dry herb and oil vaporizing. Do not miss out on this excellent vape if you have been searching for one of the most seamless dry herb vaping experiences.

    Pros:

    • Fantastic power output and heatup times
    • Delivers world-class dry herb vaping experience
    • Concentrate Pod available

    Cons:

    • Expensive
    • Only dry herb & oil
    • Might be too much for a light vaper

Arizer Air 2 Vaporizer For Dry Herbs

Arizer Air 2 Vaporizer for Dry Herbs

Another powerhouse dry herb vaporizer, your money will be well spent on the Arizer Air 2 Dry Herb Vaporizer. Particularly, for experienced users the Arizer Air 2 features pristine temperature control and allows for one of the longest lasting batteries you can purchase in any dry herb vape. This is powerful stuff – you will not need to constantly chase down an outlet while carrying your Arizer Air 2 vape pen in it’s travel case. Interestingly, this vape pen features a hybrid heating system to vape your dry herb – primarily it relies on conduction but there is also a convection element to ensure an even distribution of heat and prevent you from burning your dry herb. This means powerful and smoother hits than some other dry herb vape pens will deliver. Keep in mind this doesn’t make the Arizer Air 2 cheap and that is a huge consideration. Not to mention, the features are all wonderful if you are most familiar with vape pens, whether you want a dry herb vape pen, or if vaping is simply a side hobby to your glass collecting addiction. All things told, however, you will likely not regret an Arizer Air 2 purchase should you make the leap to purchase one.

    Pros:

    • Again, powerful hits and long lasting battery
    • Great quality and design features
    • Temperature control

    Cons:

    • Expensive
    • Only dry herb
    • Can be complicated for new users

Arizer Extreme Q Vaporizer For Dry Herbs

    Arizer Extreme Q Desktop Vaporizer

The Arizer Extreme Q vaporizer is going to be a powerhouse dry herb vaporizer. However, it is only that and this could spell an issue for an experienced or novice user looking for more versatility and options. Not to mention, it is certainly less portable than even some of the larger box mod options. As a desktop dry herb vaporizer, the Arizer Extreme Q should be ignored if you need something to slip into your pocket. In addition, the cost makes it difficult for all but the most extreme dry herb vapers to warrant spending money on this and another dry herb vaporizer (or a few more, depending on the versatility and whatever your feeling towards wax and oil). But, that in no way takes away from the sheer quality of materials and attention to detail and function the developers of the Airzer Extreme Q put into her. There is also a high level of versatility in how you vape your dry herb. You can use a balloon system, air hose, or a glass mouth piece attachment. In addition, the convection system used in the dry herb Extreme Q allows you an even, smooth, and powerful smoke. There is also the neat feature of a remote control and an exquisite display screen. Cleaning is also a simple process even with a dry herb vape this size.

    Pros:

    • Powerful
    • Reliable and quality construction
    • Versatility in dry herb vaporization

    Cons:

    • Only for dry herb
    • Expensive and possibly complicated for inexperienced users
    • Not easily portable or concealable

Arizer Solo 2 Dry Herb Vape Pen

Arizer Solo 2 Dry Herb Vaporizer

As the name implies, the Arizer Solo 2 was designed more for the individual user and not a larger group or gathering. You might even say this is the opposite of the Arizer Extreme Q in that regard. The Arizer Solo 2 is certainly portable, concealable, and convenient. It is made with high quality materials and is worth the investment. However, it should be noted that an investment is certainly how one should approach the Arizer Solo 2. If you have any doubts about dry herb vape pens or whether or not you even enjoy vaping this is not going to be the vaporizer pen to experiment with. However, this is certainly a vape pen that delivers exceptional power and battery life, a great deal given its dimensions, and certainly not a dry herb vape pen you have to worry about producing low quality or bad tasting hits. The Arizer Solo 2 has a 30 second heat-up time and is not difficult given the powerful features and quality materials. It just might be too much for a novice vaper to want to go ‘all-in’ on dry herb vaping. There is a carrying case and this is nice even given its small size and lightweight construction.

    Pros:

    • Quality materials and construction
    • Powerful and long-lasting vape sessions
    • Excellent for dry herb

    Cons:

    • Only for dry herb
    • Expensive
    • Not the best starter vape

Firefly 2 Vaporizer For Dry Herbs and Wax

Firefly 2 Vaporizer for Dry Herbs and Wax Concentrates

The Firefly 2 is a highly advanced portable vaporizer that uses a convection heating system that will only begin heating while you’re inhaling! This is a fabulous system that cuts down on battery drain and waste and is much safer than other conventional systems (not that those are dangerous, this is just safer). Amazingly, the Firefly 2 can reach up to 400 degrees in only around 3 seconds! Not to mention, the Firefly 2 is also built with blue tooth capability and this is able to connect to a downloadable app that features different preset temperatures and you can customize your sensor activation. This dry herb vape pen is going to knock your socks off if you’re only used to vaping simpler, easier to manage vaporizers. But be warned – the Firefly 2 is not cheap. If you are new, clumsy, or simply strapped for cash you will want to look elsewhere before you begin to seriously consider this vape. However, if you are looking for a superb dry herb vape pen that will make a qualitative addition to your vape pen collection, definitely do not overlook the Firefly 2. If you use a high watt power adaptor, the Firefly 2 will charge in less than an hour. Weaker chargers will result in longer charge times. There is also replaceable batteries so you can swap them out in case you are more of a heavy vaper. The Firefly 2 comes with good power, however, given the features and exhaustive system the extra batteries and quick charge time are appreciated. No expense has been spared in providing a futuristic vape experience and you will feel it.

    Pros:

    • Powerful, quality vape
    • Smooth hits from fantastic heating system
    • Portable and manageable

    Cons:

    • EXPENSIVE
    • Large investment for novice vapers
    • No versatility with wax or eliquid options

Crafty Vaporizer For Dry Herbs and Wax

Crafty Vaporizer for Dry Herbs and Wax

The Crafty Vaporizer is going to be another high-dollar investment, however, if you’re a serious vaper than it is likely going to be worth every cent. The Crafty comes to us from the kind folks that made the Volcano desktop vaporizer – and the designers at Storz & Bickel certainly do not like to disappoint. The Crafty vaporizer uses a full hot air convection heating combined with conduction to produce stable air temperature and powerful hits – not to mention ensure that your dry herb is being fully consumed and not leaving behind too much residue. Don’t be alarmed about power or harshness, however, as the Crafty has an integrated cooling unit in the mouthpiece to provide you with a cool, smooth hit. This is wonderful – particularly for those who are serious about their vaping, love big and powerful hits, but cannot handle anything too harsh (and may vape for that purpose). There is a reasonable charge time of 2 hours and a 90-120 second heat-up time that one should be aware of. In addition, there is an app you can download to control the heat temperatures and see your battery display (there is also battery life indicators in the LED system on the vaporizer itself). Wonderfully, the Crafty is not just a dry herb vape pen it is also able to be outfitted with wax pen concentrates as well. This is helpful and might swing your favor when deciding to make such a substantial investment in the Crafty.

    Pros:

    • Wax and dry herb options
    • Powerful, yet cool, hits for a dry herb or wax pen
    • Cool features in the app and operative system

    Cons:

    • Expensive
    • Not good for inexperienced or low buy-in vapers
    • Slow Heat Up Time

    Yocan ISHRED Dry Herb Vaporizer

Yocan Ishred Dry Herb Vaporizer with Weed Grinder

We return to the Yocan brand with the Yocan ISHRED dry herb vape and it is a welcome return. As discussed before, Yocan is known for making quality products without having to spend a small fortune. Not to discount other brands and their renowned quality at all. With the ISHRED, Yocan has certainly managed to wow us again with some unique insight into what a dry herb vape pen can or should do. One neat thing is that there is a built-in herb grinder into your new vape pen. So, if the price tag is something that would inherently scare you make sure you incorporate the cost of a dry herb grinder and this might make the math more favorable to you. In addition, the Yocan ISHRED will sift and stir your dry herb as your vaping it – something that will help avoid uneven heating and potential burning! The battery capacity on the Yocan ISHRED is in the higher range for this list and that means you can continue to vape well into your day. It also means that a quick charge is not likely. The Yocan ISHRED is a neat dry herb vape and certainly deserves your consideration. However, if you want something that is going to be cost equivalent AND allow you to use it as a wax pen or dab pen you will need to go elsewhere as this is only compatible with the dry herb side of the vape world.

    Pros:

    • Reasonably priced for the quality and features
    • Built-in grinder and kief catcher
    • Powerful battery

    Cons:

    • Can be on the more expensive side for a novice vaper
    • Not versatile – no wax or eliquid
    • Can be a longer charge time than desirable

DaVinci IQ Vaporizer For Dry Herbs

    DaVinci IQ Dry Herb Vaporizer

The DaVinci IQ Vaporizer is another powerful contender for “Best Dry Herb Vaporizer” but we are not here to make that determination for you. However, we are going to say that the DaVinci IQ Vaporizer has a number of powerful features that you should not ignore. To start off with, there is a lot of intelligent design put into this vaporizer. It uses a 360-degree conduction heating vaporizer and this allows for a powerful, clean vapor production to consume. There is additional Smart Path technology and an accompanying app that will allow you to enjoy a number of features and have sensitive control information at your fingertips and the press of a button. However, there is a drawback or two to this vape depending on your preferences and how you view things. For one, this vape is expensive. That isn’t to say every last cent spent on this vape isn’t worth it but that’s something to consider particularly if you’re on a budget. Another thing is that the DaVinci is going to give you about 1.5 hours of active vape time. That can be more than enough for a lot of people, however, for some others it simply will not do. Not to mention, the charge time of 3 hours is nearly double the use time and for more experienced vapers that might be unacceptable. Still, the DaVinci is widely considered to be an amazing dry herb vape pen as well as a well-crafted, intelligent design. However, if you want something with wax or oil capability you will certainly have to turn somewhere else.

    Pros:

    • Amazingly intelligent design and features
    • Powerful battery
    • Dry Herb is vaporized efficiently, evenly, and cleanly

    Cons:

    • No wax or oil
    • Expensive
    • Low Battery life and long charge time

DaVinci Micro Vaporizer For Dry Herbs

    DaVinci Miqro Dry Herb Vaporizer

So, let us begin by saying that this is, like the above-mentioned IQ, a fantastic and well-built vaporizer. However, it (and its creators) deserve additional praise beyond that because they did something unthinkable – they designed a replacement option for the IQ that addressed some of the concerns of their customers (imagine that)! As noted above, a complain about the DaVinci IQ was that there was not a long battery life for such a powerful and expensive vape. This has been addressed by allowing many replaceable batteries so you don’t run out of power. In addition, this vaporizer is 33% smaller and manages to maintain a powerful and smooth vape experience. However, as with its predecessor, there is not an ability to use the vape pen as a wax pen or an oil pen – just a dry herb pen. This is not inherently a problem, however, if your tastes are more versatile you should keep this in mind. While smaller and still powerful and a little cheaper, the DaVinci Micro Vaporizer is still expensive to average vapers and below. That means that you will need to choose wisely if considering this vape pen. There is still all the Smart Path technology one could want and other technological goodies the DaVinci brand is known for and this can either be a draw for the more tech-oriented vapers or a drawback for those of us that simply want to vape some dry herb and relax.

    Pros:

    • Good technology and quality materials
    • Better battery options
    • Powerful and smooth hits

    Cons:

    • Could simply be ‘too much’ for an average or novice vaper
    • Expensive
    • Not versatile for other uses

Boundless CF 710 Dab Pen Wax Vape

Boundless CF 710 Dab Wax Pen Vape Nectar Collector

We are returning to the dab pen and wax pen side of the vape market as we examine the Boundless CF 710 Dab Pen. This is an interesting vape pen because it employs a novel design concept that ask: Do we really have to deal with all the mess of traditional dab pens? Turns out, the answer is a resounding “No”. The Boundless CF 170 dab pen allows you to directly insert the end of the dab pen into your wax and inhale and start vaping right out of the gate. This is a remarkable feature that will likely cause you to frantically purchase this dab pen if you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired – and covered in wax. Not to mention, the Boundless CD 710 does come with a powerful battery (not the most powerful but certainly better than average) and is of a good size to be portable, convenient, and still remain viable as a strong dab pen. Not to mention, the novel design makes this more convenient than conventional dab pens.

    Pros:

    • The novel design feature that keeps you clean
    • Good, powerful battery
    • Good wax pen

    Cons:

    • Not accommodating to dry herb or oil
    • Might be too costly for a novice vaper
    • Missing temperature controls and other important features to experienced vapers

Pulsar APX 2 Vaporizer For Dry Herbs

    Pulsar Vaporizer APX 2 Pen

The Pulsar APX 2 vaporizer is certainly going to leave you happy with its features. It is made of quality materials, is simple to use, won’t break the bank, and is a nice middle ground between the tech-oriented and control specific super vapes and the bare-bones simple vapes that have been discussed throughout this list. The Pulsar is a dry herb vape that features some nice preset heat settings to give you some options without having to pay for a full LED display if that’s not your thing. Not to mention, it will indicate various levels of power through different colors on its light display and, while this is not always the most specific, on-demand, or useful it is better than simply having the vape shut off or having to pay an additional fifty bucks for an app or display. With a high-quality ceramic heating chamber and the ability to put an average amount of dry herb in there, you will be able to enjoy this in a social setting and not worry about running low too often. Not to mention, it’s not a bad size and gets good marks for portability and concealment. This doesn’t do wax or oil and so it won’t be your next best dab pen.

    Pros:

    • Offers some nice design features without being too costly
    • Offers some variety of control in temperature
    • Good size and capabilities to warrant a purchase

    Cons:

    • Dry herb only, can’t use wax or oil if that’s your thing
    • For experienced and tech-savvy vapers, you lose some features and functions
    • For the simplest of vapers, this might come out too pricey

    SteamCloud EVOD Vape Pen Battery

SteamCloud EVOD Oil Vape Battery with Cartridge

SteamCloud is known for producing quality materials and this EVOD Vape pen battery is no different. There is of course the idea that you’re only purchasing a battery – so if you have zero experience with vaping or zero supplies this might be something to steer clear of. However, that’s the beauty of this SteamCloud product – it will match up with 510 oil cartridges, wax atomizers, and dry herb heating chambers all. This is the most versatile item on our list and so if you value that most you will probably stare at this item for a long time – don’t, just do yourself the favor and get it. If you aren’t entirely sold on versatility this vape pen battery has an exceptional charge and power output given its size and can offer voltage variability. All in all, this is certainly not a bad purchase and you could do far worse. However, this doesn’t mean there are not faults with this system. While a good battery, there is the issue of charging a more powerful battery (not specific to this battery, but, it can be an issue in general). Moreover, you may not want to have versatility and would prefer to focus on a specialized product that delivers a more unique experience to fulfill your specific needs or desires. However, given the reasonable pricing of this item you have probably splurged far worse. Definitely look this product over before deciding to move elsewhere but understand that, even being an excellent deal and a wonderful product, it is ok to want more out of your vaping experience.

    Pros:

    • Versatile
    • Inexpensive
    • Quality brand and materials

    Cons:

    • For experienced vapers, this might not satisfy tastes
    • Battery may require longer charge time than used to
    • No specific, exceptional features

Yocan Magneto Dab Pen Wax Vape

Yocan Magneto Dab Wax Pen Vape

As the name would suggest this is both a) a quality item produced by quality brand Yocan and b) features an interesting magnetic vape coil connection system to help smooth over the issues with other wax vape pen parts and connections. As an additional consideration it should be noted that the battery on the Yocan Magneto wax pen is certainly powerful enough to provide you with a big, powerful enough hit to satisfy the most experienced vaper. However, this might be a bit of a turn-off to vapers that value a lighter hit. Moreover, the more powerful the battery often the longer the charge. While this product is not the largest and certainly not ‘large’, it is not the smallest vape pen on the list and that should be taken into account. Additionally, it is only a wax pen. If you prefer to be able to vape dry herb or oil concentrates than you will also have to look elsewhere. None of this, however, should overshadow the unique design system and wonderful flavoring of the wax pen. To underestimate the Magneto is to do so at your own peril. Reasonably priced, this would be an excellent addition to any collection.

    Pros:

    • Design favors less leakage and mess and better flavoring
    • Powerful vape pen
    • Quality materials and brand

    Cons:

    • Wax only, no dry herb or oil
    • 2-3 hour charge period (not best, not worst)
    • Does not integrate other features such as temperature control or wattage control

    Yocan Evolve-D Dry Herb Pen

Yocan Evolve D Vape Pen For Dry Herbs

Last, but not least, is the Yocan Evolve-D herb vape pen. Another product of the Yocan brand, we have noted multiple times that this is a brand you can trust. This is also a brand that delivers quality materials and vaping experiences without raiding your wallet too hard and the Evolve-D dry herb vape pen follows suit. However, this also means that there is going to be design features and specifications that are left out in favor of providing you with a cost-effective tool to enjoy vaping your dry herb. So, experienced vapers beware, you will be losing many of your tech-oriented features in favor of simplicity. This isn’t a problem, it is simply a design preference. The mouthpiece allows the dry herb to press together and heat more evenly and also allows for an easier clean. This is important – especially for novice vapers worried about burning instead of vaping their dry herb. There is good voltage and good battery expectancy with the Yocan Evolve-D dry herb vape, however, don’t expect anything over-the-top or too special. This is easily one of the simplest vapes to enter the market with.

    Pros:

    • Convenient
    • Simple
    • Cost-effective

    Cons:

    • Dry herb only
    • Experienced or picky vapers might be left underwhelmed
    • No temperature control, wattage control

    Conclusion

All in all, there is tremendous diversity in the vape pen market. Whether or not you have a preference for a particular set of features, wax pens, dry herb pens, or oil/dab pens, or even a particular vape brand or level of quality there is going to be something for everyone. If you’re shy about moving away from traditional bowls, bongs, or pipes you should certainly explore even more reviews and ratings on this site. Specifically researching what it is you’re in need of is the best way to ensure that you have a product you love – and you might as well love it if you’re spending the money on it. In this modern age, ignorance is certainly a choice when it comes to buying products that don’t deliver the experience you want and need – and most importantly, deserve.
