T-Vape 2.0 Dry Herb Vaporizer Review
The T-Vape 2.0 is the next iteration of Square Smoke's portable vaporizer pen. This evolution comes with subtle, yet significant updates that show Square Smoke is listening to customer feedback and knows how to learn from its mistakes to improve the product. The T-Vape 2.0 Dry Herb Vaporizer is a great quality vape pen, but has limited functionality. If you are looking for a dry herb vaporizer that lets you customize the temperature and heats up quickly, then we suggest taking a look at the Dry Herb Vaporizers found at our online vape shop.
T-Vape 2.0 Vaporizer Video Review
What is the T-Vape 2.0?
Getting down to the basics, the T-Vape 2.0 is a portable vaporizer pen made for dry herbs. Where most vaporizer pens have vape coils at the bottom which combust the herbs you place inside (unless a barrier, such as glass screen filters are used), the T-Vape 2.0 has an oven-style, tube-shaped heating chamber with no exposed heating element. Instead, the chamber simply heats up (between 390°F and 420°F), causing the herbs to release vapor through conduction (direct contact). The premise is simple, and it's quite surprising that few vaporizer pens have caught on to this design choice.
So, instead of smoke, you are treated to clouds of vapor which dissipate quickly, produce less odor, and are less harmful (and more comfortable) to inhale. How much vapor you get depends on the types of herbs you're using and the temperature you set the heating chamber to.
How to use the T-Vape 2.0
Turning the T-Vape on and off is fairly straightforward; you simply press the power button 5 times rapidly. The power button will first glow red, indicating that it's heating up to 390°F, and turn green once it's reached that temperature (after about a minute or two).
Unfortunately, increasing the temperature is a bit more complicated, though not by much. To increase the temperature, you simply hold the power button down after it's reached 390°F. Each second you hold the power button down, the heating chamber will increase by one degree. After 30 seconds, the chamber will reach 420°F, and the power button will flash to let you know.
The downside is that, unless you are just going straight from 390°F to 420°F, you won't know exactly what temperature you're at unless you're a human clock or carry a stop-watch with you. This is a little disappointing, and I think it could easily be improved, but it's by no means a deal-breaker.
Upgrades from the previous Model
Multiple size configurations to fit your preference
The 2.0 features some smart updates from the original. Most notable is that there are now different size configurations that you can choose based on your preferences. Personally, I prefer the smallest chamber and the smallest battery--which makes for the most portable size that will easily fit into your pocket without feeling clunky. However, if you want to pack a lot of herbs, you can swap out the smaller heating chamber for the larger one. Likewise, if you want more battery life, you can use the larger battery instead of the smaller one.
There are a total of 4 combinations, and you can choose what suits your needs best. The big difference is that you aren't stuck with a large, clunky device anymore (one of my main gripes with the original).
Tweaks to improve airflow
The second update is the mouthpiece. This might be the most important improvement. Before, the T-Vape used a ceramic filter in its mouthpiece. However, I found the holes to be too small to get adequate airflow. This led me to inhale harder, which only resulted in the herbs getting sucked up through the chamber onto the filter--preventing even more airflow!
Ultimately, I fixed this by removing the filter from the mouthpiece altogether and using a mesh screen filter instead (T-Vape 1 users, you can try this if you have an airflow issue).
However, the T-Vape 2.0 comes with a much better mouthpiece and avoids the airflow issue altogether. First, the mouthpiece now has a spring which helps keep the herbs in place (that is, in the chamber and not shoved up against the air hole). Second, the filter is much better at keeping good airflow. So now, you won't have any problem getting good hits.
Cleaning the T-Vape 2.0
Cleaning the device is extremely easy. This is mostly thanks to the heating chamber being completely hollow. To clean it, you just unscrew the chamber from the battery, remove the mouthpiece, take your packing tool, and poke everything out from the chamber. It takes about 5 seconds. Nice, right?
T-Vape 2.0 Conclusion
Overall, the T-Vape 2.0 is much better than the original, both in its form factor and ability to produce good hits. There are other dry herb vaporizers that are much better than the T-Vape 2.0. Click on any of these products Below
