CBD Body Oil and Ways to Use this Topical

There are currently hundreds of CBD products available across the United States. However, not all of them will offer consumers the same effects, potential benefits, or dose of CBD. There is a huge difference between CBD topicals and CBD edibles, although they can both be made with the same base ingredient, CBD extract. These differences are even more numerous when it comes to the various types of products within each category too.

Although all CBD topicals start with the base of CBD extract and moisturizing ingredients, they are not used in the same way. There is a different aim with each CBD-infused product, and that intention and what leads up to it should be looked into thoroughly. So, if you have a bottle of CBD oil in your hand or online shopping cart, take a moment to read on and learn more about exactly what you are holding and how to use it.

What is a CBD Body Oil?

A CBD Body Oil is simply a form of a CBD topical. And a CBD topical is a product infused with CBD, intended to be used on your skin. CBD topicals can include lotions, balms, salves, and oils, but they are all created with CBD extract. They are also commonly applied to a concentrated area of skin, depending on the viscosity of the topical. For example, a CBD lip balm is intended to be applied to the skin on your lips. However, CBD body oil has a thin consistency and can be easily applied on broader areas of the body.

What Makes CBD Body Oil Different Other CBD Topicals?

The short answer to what makes CBD body oil different from other CBD topicals is nothing really. They are all made with a moisturizing base and hemp plant CBD extract. They all achieve similar results as well. When it comes to CBD edibles versus CBD RSO, there is a huge difference in the dose of concentrated CBD included. However, most CBD topical products tend to offer similar doses and effects.

The only real difference between CBD body oil and other topicals is that the topical oil can be spread in a thin layer across larger areas of your body. So, if you are macro-dosing CBD for a larger area of skin-level irritation or inflammation then a body oil will work better than other topicals.

How to Use CBD Body Oil?

If you have decided that CBD-infused body oils work well with your skin, then there are a couple of different ways you can consider using it. But first, you should consider how CBD will work with your body when applied as a topical.

Every CBD topical delivers CBD to your endocannabinoid system via absorption through your skin. The CBD sinks in skin-deep and can provide relieving effects to skin-level irritation. CBD is known to work as an anti-inflammatory and can therefore lessen the pain experienced from inflamed muscles or skin. It is important to keep in mind that when CBD interacts with the body as topical, it does not enter the bloodstream like a CBD edible or tincture. Therefore, it will most likely not interact with the receptors in the endocannabinoid system that are connected to the brain. Also, CBD will not leave users feeling “high” and will not provide intoxicating effects when applied as a topical, even in large doses. The CBD will instead be absorbed via the skin in the concentrated area where it is applied and bind with cannabinoid receptors in that area.

Considering that CBD body oil is not your average oil, you should still start with applying a small amount to gauge the effects. Once you know how it works and feels then you can begin to experiment with using different doses of CBD as a topical. It’s also good to start with a small amount to see how your skin will react to the other ingredients included in the body oil. You should also consider consulting your dermatologist or medical provider before using CBD body oil for a specific medical condition.  If your skin is all clear and the CBD is providing the affects you are looking for though, then there are a few common ways that people are using CBD body oil.

CBD users who suffer from arthritis or other common inflammatory conditions have reported benefits from using CBD topicals. Athletes have also found that it helps with acute soreness related to tissue damage done during intense exercise sessions. There needs to be more research done to look into how CBD works with the body to accomplish such results, but there are plenty of user testimonies to back these experiences. For now, people are giving body oil a try in massage sessions, to help provide even deeper sore muscle relief. Or they are adopting it as a routine to help manage the symptoms of multiple sclerosis, chronic pain, joint pain, acne, eczema, psoriasis, rashes, bug bites, burns, cuts, scrapes, and general skin infections.

CBD body oil can be a great addition to a regular massage, or an extra-moisturizing luxury in your beauty routine. It is easier to apply than your average CBD topical and easy to apply to large areas of your body. All of the potential benefits of CBD are still being researched in more depth, but there is no evidence that adding some CBD oil to your body will hurt it more than help it.
