How to Use a Spiked Horn Dab Rig
- Do not let the horns intimidate you, this dab rig operates like most others. First, fill the dab rig with water until it covers the end of the downstem inside. The water is going to act like a filter and a cooler, letting your hits be less harsh and full of flavor.
- Once that is done, place the dab nail of your choice into the female joint and begin heating it. Hand torches work great for this step because they apply an intense heat and can be angled away from the dab rig. If you allow those kinds of flames to have prolonged contact with the dab rig glass, it may crack and break.
- How long you heat the dab nails depends on the kind of dab nail you are using. Titanium and quartz dab nails need to be heated until they are glowing red hot. Ceramic nails will not change color when heated, so you will need to apply heat for at least several minutes. If using an e-nail, simply turn it on and set it to your desired temperature.
- Once the dab nail is heated, you will want to let it cool for about 30-45 seconds. This will bring it to the sweet spot of not being too hot to scorch your concentrate but still being hot enough to vaporize your wax or oil. If using an e-nail, this step can be skipped.
- Apply your chosen concentrate to the dab nail. Generally, the best spot to do this is along the inside edge of the nail. An even application around the surface of the nail will help prevent your wax or oils from getting scorched.
- As you are applying concentrates to the nail, begin drawing in the vapor. This should cause the water in the pipe to bubble as the vapor comes through.
- Inhale the vapor from inside the dab rig until there is no visible vapor left. If you are wanting to take another hit, you may need to reheat the nail. Once it is heated, reapply your concentrate and repeat the steps.
How to Clean a Spiked Horn Dab Rig
- This dab rig will need to be soaked in order to get a proper cleaning. The cleaning solution we recommend is 420 Cleaner, which is made specifically for dab rigs, bongs, glass pipes, and a number of other smoking materials. After the dab rig has soaked, you will want to make sure it is completely rinsed. Then, allow it to dry, and it will be ready for another dabbing session.
