How to use Sharpstone Clear Top Herb Grinder?
- Sharpstone Grinders in general, are very easy to use. First, make sure all 4 parts are screwed on. The last thing you want to do is grind your sour diesel without having your kief catcher screwed on.
- Next take the Clear Top off your grinder and put your dry herbs in the teeth. Don't over-pack. It's not necessary and you won't get as good of results.
- After loading the grinder with some dry herbs, press the cover on top. The razor sharp diamond cutting blades will cut right through so the cover can stay on evenly.
- Next, continue to twist around the top however you'd prefer. Basically, the goal is to keep grinding until the dry herbs all get to the storage chamber.
- If you are grinding dry herbs that have a lot of THC crystals, then it may be wise to lightly slam the grinder on the table. That way the kief inside the storage chamber can filter through the screen. Every time you grind your dry herbs, you want to do your best to get all the kief to the bottom.
- After you've ground your dry herbs and slammed down the grinder a few times, open up the grinder and begin using your dry herbs.
- If you're trying to use the kief catcher, make sure you have your kief scraper to scrape up as much of the kief as you can.
What to grind in the Sharpstone Clear Top Grinder?
- You can grind any type of dry herbs you want in a Sharpstone Grinder, but we suggest grinding the best quality you can. If you grind up moist/wet dry herbs, there may be residue that can stick to the grinder. It's not a major issue, but it's something that can definitely occur.
How to clean the Sharpstone Clear Top Grinder?
- Before cleaning your grinder, you want to make sure you've taken out all the dry herbs and scraped out all the kief at the bottom of the grinder and the walls in the storage chamber.
- Next, detach all the pieces of the herb grinder
- Then fill a pot of water and place the Sharpstone Clear Top Herb Grinder in the pot. Put the pot on any stove and heat the water until it boils.
- After the water has been boiling for five minutes, you can turn off the stove and leave the grinder in the pot for another 15 minutes.
- When you take out your herb grinder, use a Q-Tip to wipe off any residue that's still on the grinder. DO NOT use the Q-tip on the metal filter screen. You can use a small cleaning brush and gently brush off any residue that might still be on the screen. BE CAREFUL!!!
- Finally, you can rinse everything out with warm water in the sink. Most of the sticky residue should be gone and after everything has fully dried, you can start using your grinder again.
What is a Kief Catcher?
- A Kief catcher is the bottom piece of a herb grinder that can store finely ground crystals. For example, if you grind up Sour Diesel or OG Kush, there will be a lot of crystals that fall through a filter screen and reach the bottom of the herb grinder. That bottom chamber is called a Kief Catcher.
