How to season your Quartz Nail?
- Seasoning your nail is very important because you want to make sure you have the most optimal taste when you first use your quartz nail. First, you need to prepare a very small amount of shatter or wax.
- Next, heat your nail for 45-60 seconds. This will burn off any residual substances that may be on your nail. It's possible that there aren't any residual substances, but you should do this anyway so that 100% there isn't anything on the nail.
- Let the quartz banger nail cool for about 15 seconds. Get your prepared amount of shatter or wax. Then start coating your nail. Repeat this activity a couple more times.
- If you don't want to use shatter or wax to season your nail, you can use water to season your nail. First, heat your nail with a torch for 45-60 seconds. Next, use tongs to remove your nail from the dab rig and place it in a bowl of water. Repeat this step several times and your nail should be good to go.
How to use a Banger Nail?
- First, you need to prepare your shatter or crumble with a dab tool or the tip of your carb cap.
- To take a low temp dab hit, you need to heat your nail for 10-15 seconds. For high-temperature dab hits, you'll need to heat your nail for around 20 seconds or until the nail begins to have a red glow.
- Then let the nail cool for 10 seconds. While you're letting it cool down, make sure to have your dab tool with concentrates on it ready to be dabbed. A lot of our customers say that they use a timer when waiting for the nail to cool down. Some of the more advanced dabbers take the temperature of the nail seriously so that they can have the most optimal taste.
- Start to gently touch the dab of wax to the nail and while doing that, begin inhaling slowly and smoothly.
- When there is no more wax on your dab tool and the dab rig chamber is clear, exhale and you may continue to take more dab hits as you please. Some people use a compatible carb cap so that NO excess smoke is lost.
How to clean a Banger Nail?
- After you have finished your dab session, if there is any residual concentrate on the nail, burn it off using the torch to prevent any sticky build up.The more sticky build-up you have on your nail, the less optimized the taste will be when taking future dab hits.
- Some people use Q-TIPS to clean their banger nail. After you've finished dabbing, you can use a Q-TIP and twirl it around the walls of the bowl. It should be able to take off most, if not, all the wax residue.
- Another thing people do to clean their quartz nail is to pour 91% isopropyl in a bowl and make sure the nail is submerged in alcohol. After several minutes, you may take out the nail and let it air dry.
Difference between Quartz, Titanium, and Ceramic
- Titanium Nails can retain heat incredibly well. It's indestructible and easy to carry around. Some people complain about the taste of a dab hit when using a Titanium nail, but if you season it properly, the taste should be just fine. Another potential negative is that the titanium nail can get so hot that it burns the concentrates instead of producing vapor. That's why it's very important to let your Titanium nails cool down after heating. The advanced dabbers take this so seriously they use a timer so that they can figure out the best time to take a dab hit.
- Quartz Nails are generally cheaper and have a very clean taste. It takes longer to heat a quartz nail and it doesn't hold the heat for as long. BE CAREFUL heating it because sometimes, if you heat in incorrectly, the glass can crack or shatter. For those who want a quartz nail that heats fast, we suggest using a birdhouse quartz nail.
- Ceramic Nails provide a very clean tasting hit. It holds the heat for a really long time too. BE CAREFUL after you've heated it. It retains heat really well and even after a long time when you think it's not hot anymore, it can still be hot enough to burn you. One of the negatives about ceramic nails is that it's known to crack and shatter if heated improperly. You want to apply the heat in a circular motion to keep it even. As long as you're heating it evenly, slowly, and never until it gets glowing red, the nail will work just fine.
