When it comes to vaping, today’s world is much different than it was just a few years ago. Gone are the days where one could walk around care-free and shoot the breeze with a neighbor without worrying about contracting an illness. While it is true that before COVID struck, if you or anyone else you knew was showing signs of being sick, they were likely also avoiding others and you would naturally try to avoid getting too close to them as well.

This is no longer the case when it comes to COVID. Now, people are socially distant and wear masks to a point where coming together for a good time is more prone to taking a rain-check. This is understandable given the unpredictable nature of this novel virus. The good news here is that vaping is not going anywhere, though it has become much more restrictive than ever before.

The End of Carefree Vaping Outdoors?

It has become impractical and virtually impossible to comfortably get together with friends and have a nice, carefree vape session. Vaccines have recently entered the picture which has shown a promise to return society back into a sense of relative normalcy. Unfortunately, this does not seem like it is likely to bring us back to better times.

With the rise of variants abound, there are now mask mandates in effect that have put a potent damper on our abilities to vape in public without raising a few eyebrows. This is because in order to do so, you would have to remove your face mask. However, the reality is that if you are outdoors, and away from others, you are not likely to be wearing a face mask at all.

Vaping with a Face Mask

While it is highly inadvisable to try and vape through your face mask, it is understandable to want to take it off while outdoors to take a hit. The reason why you would not want to try and vape through a mask is because it would not likely work well. Inhaling through cloth or an N95 mask would restrict airflow and be a waste of product.

Combine that with the fact that you will also be staining your mask should you succeed. It also goes without saying that if you happen to come into contact with someone who was infected with COVID (or any other infectious disease), deliberately inhaling deeply in an attempt to take a hit through your mask can come with the unintended consequences of an infection.

Be Mindful When You Take a Hit!

The reason you would not want to have holes or any other type of entrance on your face covering for the sole reason of taking a hit off your vape is because it is simply not worth it. COVID has been shown to be a formidable illness that can be quite unpredictable, despite a positive health status.

While vaccines may offer some form of protection against serious illness, it is still possible to get reinfected. The best thing you could do is simply wait until you are away from others to take a hit off your vape. It is also highly advisable that your hands be clean before and after taking a hit to prevent yourself and others from spreading COVID.

In fact, you can see just how far vapor travels in the air once exhaled. Imagine microscopic viruses! Not only is it advisable to wait until you are alone to take a hit, but it might actually save a life.

Vaping can be either a medical necessity, or a favorite pastime. Either way, it is not going anywhere. The truth is that we can all still enjoy vaping in group settings. The key here is to simply be mindful by not sharing (more for you!), waiting until you are alone to take a hit, and being respectful of those around you. If you do choose to ignore mask mandates or share your vape with others, just know that you take a risk to your health and the health of others. We are living in uncertain times regarding this novel virus.

Future mutating variants can take a lethal or a benign path depending on the nature of things. It is up to us to maintain our health by doing our part as a society. It should also be said that vaping can bring much joy, and happiness has been shown to boost the immune system. Stay safe, and happy vaping.
